Peri bottles are designed to gently spray water whilst being held upside down so they are great for help with gentle cleaning of the perineal area, particularly when the area is painful and swollen as it helps to avoid wiping. Our customers have given us plenty of feedback in the nearly 4 years we have been selling the Flusher, letting us know that it helps to relieve discomfort and the pain of wiping. It's especially effective to help gently clean your bits after bowel movements (pro tip, get your hands on stool softener if you can!).

Adding something to the water in the Flusher peri bottle like witch hazel or any of our peri spray also aids in the healing process.

I kept mine in my ensuite ready to go for after I went to the toilet. You use the bathroom as normal (well it's not normal, using the bathroom is slighly traumatic after birth let's be honest) and after going you grab your filled Flusher, gently turn her upside down aiming at the area and squeeze.

An upside down peri bottle/ portable bidet works by applying pressure (squeezing) the bottle whilst it is being held upside down. You gently squeeze until you get a continuous stream of water coming out. Squeeze harder for a stronger continuous stream.

If using on the toilet, tap dry with toilet paper which helps to eliminate the need to wipe the area (no pulled stitches!). If using in the shower, you can simply stand, point and shoot or we would recommend safely putting one leg up against the wall to allow for more accurate access to the perineum.

It's good for your vaj darl! If you have a vaginal birth your perineal area (the area between your vagina and your anus) will really go through it. Even if you don't have tearing or stitches it will be very sore. This is why a peri bottle like the Flusher is ideal for postpartum care.

If you are sore, swollen or in pain as it will help to both relieve the area and keep it clean. Healing in the first few weeks after postpartum is something you really need to make a priority, because you NEED to look after yourself. Our peri bottle can be used for as long as you are sore.

Because our Flusher also comes with a travel bag it is also a portable peri bottle so it is perfect to pack in your hospital bag and you will really love this in your first shower or toilet visit after birth, in hospital or at home.

Because of the soft plastic it is made of (to enable you to squeeze it) it is really important not to clean the bottle with hot or boiling water. Wash only with warm water (like luke-warm), rinse gently with detergent and allow to air dry.

To keep the angled spout clean, while the peri bottle is being clean with soapy warm water, put the lid on and gently squeeze the water through to clean.

If it's in your hospital bag, just rinse with warm water and leave to air dry where you can and wash with soapy water when you get home.

Yeah babe, they're all the same, which is fantastic because it gives you lots of options for colour and choice! Choose the one that works best for you but we personally think we have the best bottle for postpartum - and the best name ;)

Of course. You can use our Vajay Spray or any of the peri sprays we stock in the bottle, or if you want to keep it super simple, you can add witch hazel.

You can spray these into the peri bottle before adding water or open the bottle and poor a dash in. Please make sure to use products with healing, natural ingredients and anti-inflammatory benefits and definitely patch test.

Over the years we have heard many creative ways our customers use their peri bottles. Obviously the primary use is to help keep your perineal area in it's best condition. However we have had customers say that they can also be used help clean your c-section area clean between showers or dressing changes.

It is a portable bidet so it can be used on the go if you want to use it while you are out and about (please note you can't pre-load it with liquid and carry it around full as it may leak).

Another pro tip: it can also be used as a great tool for new parents when your baby has a blow out.
